Check the new page of my Lab at IIT for updated info: Visual Geometry and Modelling Lab

Alessio I am a Researcher at the PAVIS (Pattern Analyisis and computer VISion) Department of the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) where I am leading the Visual Geometry and Modelling (VGM) Lab. Previously, I was a researcher in the Institute for Systems and Robotics at the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) in Lisbon, Portugal. Before that, I obtained my Ph.D. under the supervision of Dr. Lourdes Agapito at Queen Mary University of London.

CVPR 2015 manifold We present an efficient framework for recognition problems that uses both sparsity and manifold constraints (CVPR 2015). For details download the paper here.

IROS 2014 COVERAGE The automatic 3D reconstruction of large scale environments is often very time consuming currently requiring a large amount of images. We provide a novel approach to move cameras in order to maximize coverage and to decrease movement cost. Download the paper here.
